As superintendent of Minneapolis Public Schools, Dr. Green was directly responsible for overseeing the district’s business functions and academic achievement for all students. He served on the Minneapolis Board of Education from 1993-2001 and was board chair from 1996-1998.
In addition to his history professorship at Augsburg, he also serves as an adjunct professor at St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minn. Dr. Green holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Gustavus Adolphus College, a master’s degree in educational psychology, a doctorate in education, and a juris doctorate from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
Dr. Green has contributed more than 30 articles to scholarly and popular press publications.
He is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana.
