Education and school readiness efforts 2010

The Minneapolis Youth Coordinating Board is committed to supporting quality early childhood education and school readiness efforts in Minneapolis.  We strive to be a resource and a champion for young children and their parents in Minneapolis.  Through community engagement and policy alignment efforts we are dedicated to achieving the goal of All Minneapolis Children Enter Kindergarten Ready to Learn.

To achieve this goal the Youth Coordinating Board will:

  • Work to ensure that low-income children and families access high-quality child care and early learning opportunities
  • Support a seamless transition from early childhood to kindergarten
  • Work to ensure all children receive early childhood screening by the age of 3 and that health care support is available in child care centers throughout Minneapolis

The Minneapolis Youth Coordinating Board endorses Minnesota’s Future - an early childhood agenda coordinated by Ready 4K and supported by many early childhood allies locally and across the state.
