Grants for Preventing Youth Violence

The Minneapolis Youth Coordinating Board and the Minneapolis Foundation have announced a first-of-its-kind grant program to address youth violence.

Only violence prevention programs led by youth will be eligible for funding. In addition, the grants will be decided with the input of youth leaders who currently work with the YCB and the Minneapolis Foundation. The program is the first of its kind created by the two organizations.

The YCB and Minneapolis Foundation are making availabile $40,000 for grants between $1,500 and $3,500.

Note: The application deadline has now passed and we are no longer accepting grant applications.

The grant program supports the City of Minneapolis’ “Blueprint for Action: Preventing Youth Violence.”

“This joint effort combines YCB’s expertise in working with youth, with the grantmaking expertise of The Minneapolis Foundation. It also provides an opportunity for young people to understand another facet of civic life and invest in solutions they believe in,” according to YCB Executive Director Ann DeGroot.
