To keep our goals for Minneapolis youth on track, the YCB created the Call to Action Report Card. It outlines our objectives for the future, and assesses how the community’s youth is doing now. Our hope is that each person who reads the Call to Action will engage in our mission.

The YCB is committed to these goals, but we can’t achieve them alone. We need community-wide support—everyone from policymakers to parents. The first step is to learn more about Minneapolis youth.
In 2008-09, 63.8% of Minneapolis Public School students received a free or reduced-price lunch. This indicates the large number of students living in poverty.
In 2007-08, only 22.7% of Minneapolis Public School students were classified as English-proficient.
