Public Policy

Policy serving Minneapolis children and youth

The YCB helps coordinate and guide policy work among our jurisdictional partners: the City of Minneapolis, Hennepin County, the Parks and Recreation Board, Minneapolis Public Schools and the Hennepin County Public Library.

The Minneapolis Youth Coordinating Board endorses Minnesota’s Future - an early childhood agenda coordinated by Ready 4K and supported by many early childhood allies locally and across the state.

Call to Action Report Card summary
In 2009, the YCB created a Call to Action and Report Card. This document aims to keep us accountable as a community to our young people. It is a reminder to policymakers and parents of the needs of Minneapolis youth, and helps keep our collective goals on track.

Legislative work
Each year, we create a legislative agenda that reflects local, state, and national factors affecting Minneapolis children and youth. This agenda is based on policy priorities established through a coordinated effort of all YCB partners and helps align resources, needs and objectives.

Visit the YCB Resources for Policymakers which includes information on YCB policy priorities, state and national research, and the YCB 10-year strategic vision.
